The Hunebed at Borger
On the 27th, Adri and Monique headed back to Deventer as Monique had to sing at church that morning so Patrick and I stayed back to "hold down the fort." When Adri and Monique returned we went on a 5km Walking Tour in the forest around our campsite. We made a pit-stop at the Tea House to enjoy a couple of drinks before carrying back towards our campsite as we were heading to the Spanish evening put on by the campsite. You got to enjoy chicken or seafood paella and sangria. The meal was delicious and while eating a band started to play Spanish music. After we headed back to the campsite and had a good visit.
The Spanish Band
Our last day of camping and what great weather we had! After breakfast we packed up the tent and did it in record time! We then set out on the scenic route towards home. We stopped at a hidden hunebed just outside of Odoorn. It was very small and had fallen over with aging over the years. We then went to the Boomkroonpad which is a walkway up in the years and we were on the hunt for 2 Geocaches in the area. Patrick found the first one and we also got to witness a very mini bambi, what an amazing sight! Tam found her first one and was sure excited about it! And she continued to find 2 more along our path home, one is Klijndik and one is a garden. We then stopped in Coevorden to find a cache which was located near the castle which is the only castle located in the Province of Drenthe. We stopped at a local restaurant before carrying on to the Sahara, the dutch desert. We found our last cache in a parking area on our way home. We found a total of 8 Caches! Then we stopped at a Pannenkoekenhuis where Tam ordered her pancake all by herself in DUTCH! Go Tam go! We arrived home and unpacked the car! We enjoyed a visit down by the fire and we both said the same "What an amazing end to a perfect weekend." Thanks to Adri and Monique it was absolutely wonderful!
